Suitability
Trefnant Bach, the location of The Sweet Escape Luxury Bed and Breakfast Retreat, is located  on a small-holding originating from medieval times. We have renovated and modernised our home and B&B establishment to  meet the needs of  our guests. However, there are still some features typical of an old Welsh, stone-built long-house, that might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. Please ask if you have any specific needs, and we will do all we can to help.
Due to the features of the building and  external features, including, the lake, fields and woodland, to which you have open access, and the presence of livestock, we are sorry that our destination is not suitable for families with young children below the age of 14, or wheelchair users. Regrettably too, we cannot accommodate pets.

Transport links
We are located about 0.4 of a mile down a shared private track from the village of Llanddaniel Fab. The track is unsurfaced, stony and narrow. It is easily passable in an ordinary car, but it is advisable to keep your speed down to below 15mph.  The track is only one car wide. Please be patient and be prepared to reverse to the nearest passing place. Although seemingly secluded, we have fantastic public transport links. From the bus stop In Llanddaniel, at the end of our track, there are regular buses northwards to Llangefni and onwards to the port of Holyhead, with regular vehicle and footpasenger ferries to Dublin, Ireland. There is also an airshuttle from Valley Anglesey Airport  to Cardiff. Southbound buses from Llanddaniel call in Llanfair Pwll (request train halt) and Menai Bridge, before arriving at Bangor (via Ysbyty Gwynedd General Hospital). At Bangor there are links with onward bus services and access to Bangor mainline train station, with direct intercity trains to London. We are therefore in a suitable location for those that wish to arrive or explore the area independently.

Local facilities
The nearest shops are in Llanfair Pwll – a Coop with extended opening hours, and a Rowlands Pharmacist, amongst others.
The nearest fuel station is Stermat in Gaerwen.
There are many good places to eat, takeaway and drink in neighbouring Llanfair Pwll and Menai Bridge and beyond. We can advise and help you choose.
The closest general hospital is in Bangor whilst there is a GP surgery and dental practice in Llanfair Pwll.

Smokers
Our property is strictly non-smoking (including vaping and e-cigarettes), both in and outside the building ,and is therefore unsuitable for smokers.

Car-parking and checking in
Check in is from 4.00pm. Please advise us of your anticipated time of arrival, and if delayed.   Ample parking space is available on a large gravelled area before you reach  the house. Access is via a large wooden gate with the property name, Trefnant Bach, on the left hand side gate post.  Access to the house is via a concrete path, which is lit at night. On arrival, please make your way towards the conservatory on the right hand side of the house.

Doors, steps, keys and security
Tall people may find both our front door and the external door of the Apollo suite low. There is a step at our front door and a step off the private decked area outside the Apollo suite. There is a small step into the shower cubicle in the shower rooms of both the Apollo suite and the Mercury room.
You will be issued with an external door key on arrival. We may lock internal doors, depending on how rooms are occupied.
There are sensor activated security lights around the building and cctv cameras outside the building only. They  only operate when the premises are vacant.
Both the Apollo suite and the Mercury room are on the ground floor, which is all floored with polished laminate flooring.
The Mercury room has a means-of-escape window and a linked smoke alarm in the passage outside the door. The Apollo suite has a linked smoke alarm, a means-of-escape window in the bedroom and a patio door in the lounge.
There are emergency torches in both The Apollo suite and Mercury room.
If you need assistance at any time during your stay, you can get our attention by ringing the doorbell in the conservatory or by calling our mobile numbers.

Grounds
You will have free access to walk and relax in our woodlands, meadows and lakeside. However, please refrain from climbing trees and over fences and gates. Please keep gates closed. Please exercise care when using styles.  Paths may be uneven, muddy or slippery at times so suitable footwear is advised. Please do not light fires or barbeques or cut or gather wood. Please do not unnecessarily disturb or approach wildlife and livestock. Honey bee hives are located on the perifery of the meadows. If you are known to have a severe reaction  to bee stings (i.e. anaphallaxis), it may be wise for you not to explore the meadows. Please exercise caution before approaching the hives as bees may sting. Temporary warning signs are erected on approaching paths when hives are being opened and the risk of stinging is greater. Some plants e.g. nettles may cause irritation and allergy. The lake has deep water. Please keep out. It  is unsuitable for paddling or swimming.

Additional Information:
There is good access to mobile networks and free wifi in the house. You may store bicycles under cover in our barn during your stay at your own risk.
Our pet cat and Yorkshire terrier have the freedom to roam outside the property between check-out and check-in times. During these times please ensure that doors and windows remain closed and deny them entry into you rooms.
